UPDATE: my screen reading is the Splash Screen, which it should have gone past and then matched the screen pictured here. I found a bad connection was causing the problem.
See the comments in the next section before you begin Step 35. Before installing the top plate, per Step 35, install the blue and wood/circular tabs on the top plate. These instructions were not included and are a lot easier to install before the top plate is installed.
I found using a round file on the openings of the holes in the injection molded side panels made starting the 10-32 socket head cap screws much easier. Basically just scuff up the first 1 to 2 mm of the hole and you can start the screw by hand, then use a tool to drive it in.
Some kits have plain white wires coming from the hotbed. It does not matter which wage slot you put the wires in.

Since I'm not getting a "def" message i'm hoping all is ok and i'm moving forward. Just wanted to share in case someone else gets the same readout.

Yes, the circular tabs can be found in the laser cut board and those and the blue tabs are held together using 32 x 1" screws and nuts
I found it impossible to run the three wires together without lubricant. Just made sure to remove it all afterwards by wiping the wires clean.

My fans did not have connector either. Frustrating.
